AFNI HOWTOs are finally here!!!Dear AFNI-ites, both seasoned and amateur:
Would you like to learn more about processing, analyzing, and
displaying FRMI data with AFNI?Do you feel the urge to learn more about various AFNI programs such as
to3d, 3dvolreg,and 3dDeconvolve?Are you overwhelmed or confused by all those AFNI program options?
Are you afraid to use AFNI because your UNIX skills are embarrasingly
weak? Are you interested in creating scripts that will simplify your life and
amaze your friends at the same time?
Come bask in the light of understanding by visiting the new AFNI "HOW-TOs",
available on the AFNI website, under the "Educational Materials" at:
Rick Reynolds and Peggy Christidis have been working diligently on these
"How-To's", which consist of tutorials that will teach you how to become an
AFNI pro and a script-writing machine. Currently, there are two highly detailed
tutorials and more are on the way. These tutorials will provide you with:* Sample data from real experiments that you can download and tinker
with.* Highly detailed instructions on how to process, analyze, and view
the sample data in AFNI.* All you ever wanted to know about various UNIX commands but were
afraid to ask.* Sample scripts that will process your sample data for you while you
run off to the cafeteria for a coffee and doughnut.
Download these tutorials and take a look for yourself! Thus far, the sample studies in these tutorials use block design, but rest
assured, the next tutorial will involve an event-related design. An additional
tutorial will examine group contrasts (sticky stuff, but we can handle it!).
If you have further suggestions for future tutorials, feel free to tell us and we
will consider writing up some more. Be patient however, these things take time.
