AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Elrond,

We have not actually compiled those binaries in 4.5 years.
The last package is under:

afni/pub/dist/tgz/old_binaries/cygwin.tgz

It is much more recommended to use a native linux system
for analysis. If you are just trying things out, then consider
a virtual system like Oracle's free Virtual Box. If you install
that, then we have a setup available here:

AFNI.New.Bootcamp.ova

You should then be able to update your binaries using:

@update.afni.binaries -defaults

A dual boot system is another option. It is better in that AFNI
would be run on a dedicated OS, rather than sharing RAM, say.
But it is also more work and means you cannot use Windows
at the same time.
