I think for 10.6, the standard installation instructions at the following link are still valid. fink has to be installed, and then glib among other packages.

The 10.7 and 10.8 installation instructions are distributed with dynamic libraries that can be used with the instructions Isaac gave. That question does come up a lot, but the 10.7 and 10.8 instructions now include that environment variable setting. The search seems to work okay for me. Did you set the time frame to be more than 30 days? What did you search for?
