AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

The Unix/Linux error message "Killed" means that the operating system stopped the program. This almost always happens because the system runs out of memory -- and notice your run required 3.6 Gbytes of memory (at least). There is no way for a program to intercept the "Kill" command, and Unix doesn't deign to actually say why the death penalty was invoked, so the situation appears mysterious.

You can try to use the '-virtvec' option to save memory -- the program will run slower, but it has a better chance to complete. The only other option is to cut your datasets into slices (3dZcutup), process each one separately, and then glue the results back together (3dZcat) -- this process is not complex, but is painful enough that I recommend that you try '-virtvec' first -- which requires using '-jobs' as well, but you are already doing that.
