AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi -

I often am iteratively tweaking datasets in the directory in which AFNI was opened. AFNI will take note of new files to this directory when you click the "Overlay" button; but it won't note datasets that have disappeared; and if you update an existing dataset (recreate it with new data) then re-selecting the dataset won't show the new version -- the GUI continues to display the old dataset. Selecting the DataDir "Read" button gives an error "Illegal duplicate session."

Is there any way to tell AFNI to refresh its view of the datasets in the current directory, without changing anything else (image windows that are open)? Or is the only way to quit AFNI and restart it each time a dataset is removed or changed?
