AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

AFNI masters,

Would appreciate your help.

I'm trying to convert some mprage dicoms to afni brik/head. I tried to3d at first, but the resulting images looked quite odd. So, on the advice of a buddy, I ran Dimon (Dimon -gert_to3d_prefix MR_pre -dicom_org -gert_create_dataset -use_slice_loc -quit -infile_pattern '*.dcm'). However, when I do this, I receive the following error:

Dimon running, use <ctrl-c> to quit...

-- scanning for first volume
-- checking 181 potential DICOM files... 00%++ Data detected to be oblique
 100%
++ found 181 DICOM files
-- dicom sort : 2 inversions, 0 non-DICOM files, sort type 0x0
   (dicom_org was useful)

*************************************************
Error: missing slice(s) in first volume!
attempting to re-start at file: IM-0001-469273472-0001.dcm
*************************************************
....
** no_wait: no volume found in 181 files

For other DICOM directories that this has failed on, I receive multiple 'error: missing slice(s) in first volume!' messages.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but the files are labeled as:
IM-0001-426148544-0001.dcm
IM-0001-426150144-0001.dcm
IM-0001-426183104-0001.dcm
....

Any idea as to what's going wrong? I'm at a loss.

Thanks,
John
