The transformation matrix is the *.Xat.1D output from @auto_tlrc. After generating a partial mask for an ROI in tlrc space, I wanted to take the ROI back to orig space. It seemed that this task perfectly matched the example in 3dWarp (copied in OP); yet, when I applied it, it only worked if the switch for 3dWarp was -matvec_in2out. Of course, the end product is up to snuff. Maybe the Xat.1D is already inverted, and I simply didn't read the @auto_tlrc -help carefully enough?
