Hi Michael,

I do not see why even a tiny movement could not be
estimated. A tiny movement would amount to one edge
getting slightly lower values (less partial coverage
of those edge voxels) and the other slightly higher,
with similar effects along the stronger gradients
within the volume.

If a shift of 0.005 mm gives a better fit, that seems
okay.
