AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi all,

Perhaps it's something on my end, or an environmental variable I haven't found yet. If I have AFNI GUI open and have selected a dataset to visualize, then edit that dataset somehow (either the header or the data itself) on the command line without closing AFNI, the dataset is unchanged in AFNI until AFNI is closed and restarted. I totally understand why it's much more efficient to load in datasets on startup and keep them loaded.

I was thinking that maybe if a dataset is already selected, and is REselected in either the under- or overlay menu, AFNI might reread and replace in RAM that particular dataset?

I dunno, it's honestly not that much of a pain, but can become one if you forget that what you are looking at may not exist on disk anymore...

Thanks!
-Daniel
