AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

The Estelle and Daniel Maggin Department of Neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai New York, New York is offering a NMSS-funded full time position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, MR physics or Mathematics and should have knowledge and experience in both DTI and fMRI analysis. Experience with DTI and fMRI analysis software packages, presentation software, strong computer programming skills (e.g., in C/C++ & especially MATLAB) are highly desirable. Experience with computational methods and applied mathematics would be a distinct advantage. The initial appointment is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Salary is based on experience and will follow the NIH guidelines.

The newly constructed Hess Center for Science and Medicine at Mount Sinai hosts both state-of-the-art and cutting-edge imaging equipment including 1.5 Tesla, 3.0 Tesla, integrated MR/PET, PET/CT and human 7.0 Tesla (Siemens Medical Solutions, Erlangen, Germany). The Hess Center has a very active interdisciplinary research team consisting of people from engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, and neuroscience backgrounds.

The post-holder will be expected to develop and/or apply novel image post-processing, computational and statistics methods to analyze fMRI and DTI data from specific groups of neurological patients in collaboration with clinicians and investigators involved in real-time fMRI, PET imaging, EEG and rehabilitation. The Lab has a strong interest in developing new algorithms for integrating neuroimaging modalities, laboratory and behavioral measures in neurological diseases.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter describing research experience and interests, as well as an up-to-date curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references to Matilde Inglese, M.D., Ph.D., by email: matilde.inglese@mssm.edu
