AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Basically, I am confused how I got an interaction effect for Age * Emotion using 3dMVM but cannot find that effect on any post-hoc tests I've done. In 3dMVM I used the option -wsE2 because Emotion has 3 levels, although now I am seeing that in the 3dMVM help page there is conflicting information on this option. In one place it says:

"This option only makes sense if a within-subject factor has more than 3 level."

In another place it says: "Use the option only if at least one within-subject factor has more than two levels."

Did I misuse this option and possibly get a spurious interaction effect here?
