AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

There are at least four ways to use an ROI mask from an atlas or a specific subject to be used over multiple subjects:

1. Align to a standard template and compute group statistics in a standard space like MNI or Talairach. See @auto_tlrc, manual talairaching procedure or 3dTagalign.
2. Compute alignment to standard template but transform ROI to original space (search other posts on un-talairaching with 3dfractionize, 3dWarp).
3. Nudge the mask with the nudge plugin for rotations and shifts only. That plugin is in the Define Datamode, Plugins menu.
4. Make your own ROIs or modify existing ROIs for each subject with the Draw Dataset plugin.

The most commonly used method is the first, but the others are also used depending on the situation.
