node-wise correlation in SUMA

AFNI/SUMA experts-

I am interested in performing node by node bivariate correlation analysis, such as, between BOLD % signal change and cortical thickness. What I have so far are FreeSurfer processed surface, and afni/SUMA processed BOLD data (using the surface created by FreeSurfer). Through the FreeSurfer process, I have the thickness files in their "surf" directory, as well as smoothed thickness data in "mgh" format in their "analysis" directory.

(1) In theory, would I be able to do node-by-node bivariate correlation using "3ddot"???
(2) what steps do I go through to make this possible? Is it as easy as just convert the freesurfer thickness files to GIFTI, or do I need to do some sort of resampling so the two files match (and if so... how....?)??

Thank you so much for your expertise.
