 Error running 3dAutomask

When running 3dAutomask prior to deconvolution, I'm getting an error as follows:

** FATAL ERROR: Can't open dataset '(null)'

I'm using AFNI on the MAC OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) with the program compile date Sep 30.

If anyone could offer some advice on fixing this error it would be appreciated.
