AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hello-

From October 22-26, 2018, we will be hosting an AFNI Bootcamp at NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, USA.

There will be the usual 4.5 day AFNI classes Monday-Friday of that week. Additionally, students may opt to attend alternative lectures on that same Monday for the "DTI Breakout" session, taught in conjuction with the TORTOISE group and Joelle Sarlls.

The Bootcamp is free to attend, though students must pay any travel/accommodation/food/etc. expenses that they require on their own. Registration, schedule, maps and other practical information can be found here:
[afni.nimh.nih.gov]
Additionally, students must bring their own laptops-- no computers are provided, and students must install all software and datasets *before* the start of the workshop. More details about this will be provided closer to the Bootcamp time.

The workshop is hands-on for looking at lots of data with AFNI and SUMA throughout the week, and having a laptop (and proper setup) is **highly** recommended. There is also a nice introduction to basic Unix shell syntax (ls, mkdir, cd, etc.) and command line usage which is also **highly** recommended for users to be comfortable with before attending-- see:
[afni.nimh.nih.gov]
It might just save your life one day.

If you register initially and then decide that you can no longer attend later, *please* email us to let us know, so we maintain an accurate count for our space-estimation purposes.
