AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi All,

A while ago, I used to be able to perform threshold fading; i.e. through overlay and thresholding, I could see in the graph window some boxes as white and others as gray. For the life of me, I can no longer figure out how to do this. Below are my attempts to resolve this:

(0) Updated afni. (output from >afni -ver:
Precompiled binary macos_10.12_local: Aug 4 2020 (Version AFNI_20.2.10 'Aulus Vitellius')
(1) included 'AFNI_GRAPH_FADE = YES' in my ~/.afnirc
(2) Try numerous variations of threshold values, and using the hotkey 'F' to engage the fading option
(3) Watched numerous of the new youtube videos to see if I could find anything addressing this.
(4) Try toggling different settings to get it working.

Unfortunately, all to no avail. Attached is a screen shot of my workspace. I have data sets loaded to both Underlay and Overlay, and thresholding seems to work fine. But the fading doesn't. I do seem to recall I had to do some trick to get it working in the past, but cannot remember what that trick was. This was a very helpful setting in analyzing data and I would very much like to re-engage with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Edwin
