AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Dear all,

I have surface data in freesurfer surface space and would like to use SurfExtrema to find both local maxima and minima in my surface data.

I tried out the follwoing:

SurfExtrema \
-i_fs .../freesurfer/fsaverage5/surf/lh.orig \
-input .../lh.smoothedtest.mgz \
-extype ABS \
-nbhd_rad 40 \
-prefix .../lh.extrematest \
-table .../lh.extrematest.log

However, the log table is empty for the info header. Does this mean the program didn't run properly or that it ran but did not find any local extrema? I played around with the parameter for nbhd_rad but this didn't make a difference.

Is the command I'm using incorrect or not appropriate for my purpose?

Many thanks in advance!
(and apoligies for cross posting)

Best,
sabine
