AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

I want to do some clipping of statistic data sets using F- and t-score thresholds. If possible, I'd like to identify the clipping threshold on the fly from the degrees-of-freedom (DOF) information in the .HEAD file.

I could identify the t-score threshold by using a Microsoft EXCEL function like tinv (t-inverse) or finv (F-inverse) with the p-value and the DOF(s), but I can't automate that process.

I don't see a F-inverse or t-inverse function for 3dcalc in the documentation. Is there is a method anyone knows of in AFNI or UNIX (or something else) or a combination approach that would give me the F or t score for a p-value based on the degress of freedom?

Thanks for any information,

-jim
