AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hello,

I'm sorry to post such a basic question here but when people say "run this paradigm and see how the pilot data looks," how can you tell (relatively) that such paradigm actually worked or needed modification?
I'm trying to add a rating screen of subjective affect after a picture offset (how much of negative affect the subject has experienced for the previous picture), and I want to make sure that these two events are separable.
So I'm trying to run a few pilots on varying the ITIs in between these two events (picture offset - rating screen onset) but my question is: what are the recommended stepts for reviewing the data in order to come to a conlusion that these two events are able to be deconvolved? (e.g., enough ITIs)

If there is a document/book/reference that explains this specific question, please let me know as well. Thank you so much for any input in advance.
