AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi, All,

We're trying to reanalyze some old data which originally was analyzed before the modifications to 3dANOVA2. I understand that there have been some changes in the way the new version calculates t-values for contrasts specified by the -contr when the contrast does not sum to 0. We're noticing large changes in t value for p<0.005 (i.e. from 2.902 to 3.962) even for contrasts which _do_ sum to 0. As you might expect, using this new t value in a clustering analysis results in many fewer clusters than in our old analysis. How should we deal with this? Why might we have an inflated t value even when our contrasts sum to 0?

Thanks--any suggestions are welcome!
