AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hello again! I'm having some difficulty figuring out which sub-brick is which in the output functional file of my AM Regression script. I'm looking at the effects of Age of Acquisition ("AoA") on the BOLD signal amplitude in stroke patients with aphasia who performed an object and action naming task in the scanner. The script goes like this (with asterisks in place of patient initials):

3dDeconvolve -input **_AllEpis+orig -num_stimts 2 -polort 2 \
-stim_times_AM2 1 AoA*ObjectTimes.1D GAM -stim_label 1 Objects_AoA \
-stim_times_AM2 2 AoA*ActionTimes.1D GAM -stim_label 1 Actions_AoA \
-concat Runs.1D \
-full_first -fout -tout -nobout \
-bucket Func_**_AoA -fitts Fit_**_AoA

The sub-bricks in the output file are:

0 Full_F-stat
1 Actions_AoA#0_Coef
2 Actions_AoA#0_Tstat
3 Actions_AoA#1_Coef
4 Actions_AoA#1_Tstat
5 Actions_AoA_Fstat
6 Stim_2#0_Coef
7 Stim_2#0_Tstat
8 Stim_2#1_Coef
9 Stim_2#1_Tstat
10 Stim_2_Fstat

I believe that the first two sets are the mean activations for objects and actions, respectively, and that the two "Stim_2" sets refer to the actual effects I want, first for objects, then for actions. Is this correct?
Thank you!
Yours in modulation,
Whitney
