AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hello I am attempting to run a 4-way ANOVA repeated measures ( type 2 ) and i keep getting this same error:

"Subscripted assignment dimension mismatch"

The command lines are below.
Total slices along Z axis: 151 - You can estimate the total runtime
by multiplying the runtime for each slice from down below.

Running analysis on slice:
#1... ??? Subscripted assignment dimension mismatch.

Error in ==> /usr/MRITools/matlab/afni_matlab/matlab/GroupAna.m
On line 1672 ==> [err, X(:, :, i), Info, ErrMessage] = BrikLoad(file(i).nm, Opt);

Your help would greatly be appreciated. If you need additional details please let me know.

Its a pretty lengthy list of commands due to the number of factors and levels. I'll post the the beginning lines below:

Groups analysis for volume or surface data (0 - volume; 1 - surface)? 0

How many factors? 4

Availabe design types:

Type 1: Factorial (crossed) design AXBXCXD - all 4 factors are fixed.

Type 2: Factorial (crossed) design AXBXCXD - only factor D is random. If D is subject it is also
called 3-way design with all 3 factors A, B, and C varying within subject.
Type 3: Mixed design BXCXD(A)- only the nested (4th) factor D (usually subject) is random.
Also called 3-way design with factors B and C varying within subject and factor A between subjects.
Type 4: Mixed design BXCXD(A)- D is nested within A, but only the 3rd factor (usually subject)
is random.
Type 5: Mixed design CXD(AXB) - only the nested (4th) factor D (usually subject) is random,
but factor D is nested within both factors A and B. If D is subject it is also called 3-way
design with factor C varying within-subject and factors A and B between-subjects.

Choose design type (1, 2, 3, 4, 5): 2

Is the design balanced? (1 - Yes; 0 - No) 1

Label for No. 1 factor: Pain
How many levels does factor A (Pain) have? 2
Label for No. 1 level of factor A (Pain) is: P
Label for No. 2 level of factor A (Pain) is: T

Label for No. 2 factor: Phase
How many levels does factor B (Phase) have? 4
Label for No. 1 level of factor B (Phase) is: Mens
Label for No. 2 level of factor B (Phase) is: Foll
Label for No. 3 level of factor B (Phase) is: Ovu
Label for No. 4 level of factor B (Phase) is: Lut

Label for No. 3 factor: Task
How many levels does factor C (Task) have? 3
Label for No. 1 level of factor C (Task) is: I
Label for No. 2 level of factor C (Task) is: SM
Label for No. 3 level of factor C (Task) is: N

Label for No. 4 factor: Subj
How many levels does factor D (Subj) have? 13
Label for No. 1 level of factor D (Subj) is: S1
Label for No. 2 level of factor D (Subj) is: S2
Label for No. 3 level of factor D (Subj) is: S3
Label for No. 4 level of factor D (Subj) is: S4
Label for No. 5 level of factor D (Subj) is: S5
Label for No. 6 level of factor D (Subj) is: S6
Label for No. 7 level of factor D (Subj) is: S7
Label for No. 8 level of factor D (Subj) is: S8
Label for No. 9 level of factor D (Subj) is: S9
Label for No. 10 level of factor D (Subj) is: S10
Label for No. 11 level of factor D (Subj) is: S11
Label for No. 12 level of factor D (Subj) is: S12
Label for No. 13 level of factor D (Subj) is: S13

Enter the sample size (number of observations) per combination: 1

All input files are supposed to contain only one subbrik.

There should be totally 312 input files.
Correct? (1 - Yes; 0 - No) 1
