POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW

Position Definition:
The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Veterans Center at NYU Langone Medical Center invites applications for a post-doctoral fellow with strong training in task-based fMRI and structural brain imaging to join our research team. The mission of the Cohen Veterans Center is to develop diagnostic biomarkers for Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Depression. This is a large-scale study of the biology of these conditions in 1500 veterans and will integrate a wide variety of neuroimaging data with clinical, behavioral, genetic, proteomic, transcriptomic, psychophysiological, and neural circuit data. This will present the fellow with unique opportunities to shape our understanding of mental illnesses across these major clinical states and to integrate different types of biological markers in innovative ways.

This position will based at NYU Langone Medical Center (Charles Marmar, MD) with collaborating sites at Stanford University (Amit Etkin, MD, PhD), Emory University (Kerry Ressler, MD, PhD), and Rutgers-Newark (Mark Gluck, PhD). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel and receive mentorship from these collaborators.

Job Requirements:
PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related fields
Expertise in the design, collection, and analysis of behavioral and brain imaging data
Experience with ePrime and BioPac preferred
Knowledge of post-traumatic stress disorder and/or traumatic brain injury preferred
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and reliable
