Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Hi,

I'm trying to install and open afni on a new computer with OS 10.6.8 on it. fink and X code are both installed and afni abin, too, but when I try to open the GUI, it does not open and I get this message:

Can't bind? tcp_listen[bind] (Name Port numbered 20279 not in standard list of 23 ports.
, Port 20279, sd 4): No such file or directory


** Version check disabled: can't open connection to child

Initializing: X11++ AFNI is detached from terminal.

Do you have any suggestions for what might be going wrong and how to fix it?
