Hello all,

The Child Mind Institute is seeking an Assistant Research Engineer within the Computational Neuroimaging Laboratory. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop software to automate the preprocessing and analysis of very large-scale neuroimaging datasets.

Successful candidates must therefore have sufficient technical skills to independently develop software for novel data analysis strategies, as well as perform large-scale neuroimaging analyses with limited supervision.

Reporting to the team lead of the Computational Neuroimaging Lab, this is an exempt, full-time position located in our NYC headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Implement neuroimaging analysis pipelines, signal processing, machine learning, and statistical methods in Python.
Perform analyses on very large fMRI, MRI, DTI and EEG datasets using high-performance computing infrastructures.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of user interface and data visualization tools for analysis pipelines.
Assist in writing journal publications and orally present research findings.

Qualifications:

MS in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or other related scientific fields.
Proficient in programming in Python and JavaScript.
Familiarity with scientific-computing Python packages such as NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
Proficiency with distributed version-control systems such as Git/GitHub.
Ability to work effectively in a very collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
Knowledge of fMRI neuroimaging, or cognitive and/or clinical neuroscience (preferred).
Prior research experience (preferred).
