The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia (UGA) is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the area of Movement Neuroscience and Rehabilitation. This position will begin in Fall 2020. The position requires an earned doctorate in kinesiology, neuroscience, physiology, psychology, biomedical engineering, biomechanics, or another appropriate field. The position requires a minimum of one year of postdoctoral experience as of October 31, 2019.

The Assistant Professor in the area of movement neuroscience and rehabilitation will:
o Establish a nationally recognized clinical research program in movement neuroscience and rehabilitation
o Pursue external funding to support a research program
o Advise and mentor kinesiology and other graduate students pursuing research and careers in movement neuroscience and rehabilitation.
o Maintain a commitment to professional service and teaching excellence, including teaching undergraduate and graduate kinesiology courses as directed by the Kinesiology Department Head

Preference will be given to candidates who:
o Have published research combining movement behavior with neuroimaging and/or neuromodulation techniques in high-impact journals
o Have published research focused on individuals with clinical conditions
o Have obtained extramural funding or show strong potential for obtaining extramural funding
o Demonstrate strong potential to collaborate with faculty members in the Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute (http://bhsi.uga.edu), Bio-Imaging Research Center (https://birc.uga.edu), the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership (http://medicalpartnership.usg.edu; [ctru.uga.edu]), College of Veterinary Medicine (http://vet.uga.edu), or Regenerative Bioscience Center (http://rbc.uga.edu)

Applicants should submit all of the following within the “applicant documents” portion of the application:
o A cover letter linking your experience to the qualifications and responsibilities of the position
o A curriculum vitae
o A statement of future research plans (2-page maximum)
o A statement of teaching abilities, approaches and interests (2-page maximum)
