Dear AFNI users-
We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:
https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov
Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.
The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.
Sincerely,
AFNI HQ

I just converted the Docker image to Singularity using
$ singularity build --sandbox afni-22.2.04.sbox docker://afni/afni_make_build
I was surprised to find that
$ singularity exec afni-22.2.04.sbox R --version
R version 3.4.4 (2018-03-15) -- "Someone to Lean On"
R is currently at version 4.2.1, released 2022-06-23.
That seems quite old. Perhaps it could be updated? Th

in the installation instructions to get such an old R.
Just wanted to make sure R was not doing anything critical that depended on updates to R.

When I run it, I get
$ singularity shell afni-21.1.03.sif
Singularity> R --version
R version 3.4.4 (2018-03-15) -- "Someone to Lean On"
I was wondering whether there is a container image that uses an more up to date ve

It looks like this is still an issue, and also with Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic.
I just downloaded the latest AFNI tarball with @update.afni.binaries that is listed as
set aub_version = "3.13, September 24, 2019"
and I find that there are two unresolved libraries for the `afni` binary.

I had to install a few more dependencies from Xubuntu-16.04 Xenial, and I was not able to find files with the exact names that Brad used. I was able to find everything and piece it together. Here is a shell script that should work to install all dependencies and get going.
