Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.
The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Hello,
I am trying to use 3dvolreg to correct for motion in functional MRI data to then be used in a tSNR calculation. As a sanity check to see if 3dvolreg was being used correctly, it was run on a phantom dataset with known tSNR and no motion. Once 3dvolreg ran however, the tSNR changed (went down by almost 1/3). If there should be no motion to correct then how is the dataset being altered in

Hello, we would like to broadly compare SNR performance in T1 and functional data between 2 coils (birdcage and surface coils), but the surface coils require bias field correction first. We were thinking of calculating static SNR for the T1s and tSNR for the functional data, but are uncertain how to do this, or if this is really the best way to compare the coils imaging performance in AFNI. Any i

Hello, thanks for your response, your suggestions helped! We have a few more questions so here is a more in depth explanation of what our original issue was what we decided to do based off of your suggestions.
"We are trying to compare the raw fmri data for 6 runs (about 1400 TRs) of multi echo multiband data, averaged over the dorsal ACC region, to the fitted data generated from afni_pr

I am trying to extract time series data from BRIK/HEAD files one of which contains raw data and another which contains a fit for the data. I have no issues loading in the files into MATLAB using BrikLoad; they load in successfully as 4D doubles. My issue is being able to take these 4D doubles and 1. apply an 85x85x85 mask to them, then 2. extract the time series data from the file and then save i
