Dear AFNI users-
We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:
https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov
Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.
The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.
Sincerely,
AFNI HQ

Hello AFNI Folks,
I just started trying out 3dECM on some functional data. It seems to be running fine but I couldn't find documentation about the multiple values it creates. What are the differences between the two sub-bricks in the output image?
Thanks!

Fellow AFNIans,
I'm running a group analysis of resting state connectivity data and have a question about how to properly carry out family-wise error correction on the resulting group comparison statistical map. I created an r-score map for each subject (correlation of each voxel time-course with a seed time-course), converted these to z-score maps, and put them through 3dttest++, creati

I'm also interested in calculating the mutual information between two 3D volumes and found this very helpful.
However, the MI numbers I'm getting out of 3dallineate are all negative. I was under the impression that MI values should be positive. Is there a reason I might be getting negative values?
Here's an example call and resulting output:
3dallineate -allcostX -automask

AFNIans,
What is the best way to estimate activation in the presence of possible motion effects?
Specifically, I have data from a block-design fMRI task. For the subject in question there appears to be strong activation-related signal change in regions of the brain I would expect. However, I noticed that the GLM coefficient associated with the block task is slightly above average in the m
