Dear AFNI users-
We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:
https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov
Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.
The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Hi,
I'm from Porto Alegre, Brazil, and we are using DIMON and AFNI to see functional images in real time. We are also using real_timereceiver.py to get motion values from AFNI.
In real_timereceiver.py script sometimes we lost socket connection and we can see this error:
**pre data send: socket has gone bad
RTM: closing motion param socket, sent 47 param sets over 46 messages

Thanks Rick for your fast reply.
In both commands I'm using the same DICOM files.
If I use GRAPH_EXPR Dimon crashes and if I don't use Dimon works fine.
I'll test with AFNI_data6 files

Dear,
I'm using Dimon to send images in real time to AFNI in another computer with this command and everything is working
I'm using this command:
Dimon -rt \
-infile_prefix $PATIENTDIR/i \

Guys,
I'm from Porto Alegre/Brazil and I'm developing a system to track head motion in real time calculating the euclidean norm of motion.
I'd like to plot the result of this equation in a graph in real time with markers in TR's that exceed a TRESHOLD. I have already studied the scripts and 1dplot have all I need, but I have problems to refresh the graph in real time, be

Dear,
I'm from Porto Alegre/Brazil and I'm developing a system for real time tracking head motion using AFNI.
To develop my system I started with realtime.demos from AFNI_data6 examples.
I ran the examples correctly (the original files downloaded), but some seconds after they start the window that are plotting a graphic with motion data stop's to work (wxpython frame). Thi

Hi,
I'm using Dimon in real time mode.
I'd like to set GRAPH_XRANGE to 160 with -rt_cmd, but Dimon gives me that error:
** failed add 'GRAPH_XRANGE 160' to rt_list
My script:
Dimon -rt \
-infile_prefix $PATIENTDIR/ \
-host $RTFMRI_AFNI_HOST \
-pause 2000 \
-tr $TR_TIME \
-dicom_org \
-rt_cmd 'GRAPH_XRANGE 160'

I am starting DIMON at scanner with:

-num_slices $NUMBER_OF_SLICES \

Rick,
Good news, I updated Dimon with the last version as AFNI and used -sort_by_num_suffix when I started DIMON and now is everything working.
Just a note, sometimes during the scanning DIMON misses one or 2 slices. I think that is because sometimes some slices took more time to appear in the folder. I'm not using any timeout Probably I can correct this problem setting the timeout be

Thanks Rick,
I'll test soon, but analyzing my situation I think it will work. My images are indexed with a number suffix.
About the versions of DIMON and AFNI:
Dimon: version 3.6 (Nov 2, 2011), compile date: May 15 2013
AFNI is the latest open_mp_64bit version, downloaded last week.

Hi Rick and guys,
I'm from Porto Alegre/Brazil and I'm implementing the real time fmri using afni. I was looking for a solution to an error and I found this topic.
So, my error is similar. I developed a script that detect the new patient folder when the exam start and then I start Dimon with the script below:
Dimon -rt \
-infile_prefix $PA
