AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi all

I have been working with a collaborator who preproced (motion correction and normalization) data in SPM. I then transformed them into AFNI format using the following command lines:

to3d -anat -prefix Anat Anat_00001.hdr for the structural
and
to3d -time:zt 46 324 2500 alt+z -prefix Run1 swa_Run1*.hdr
for the functional

The files created got the extension +orig instead of +tlrc and I thought it would not matter (although they were normalized in SPM).

I then processed the data using 3ddeconvolve and the individual data look fine.
However, I ran a ttest on 12 subjects and the group data is not impressive...
The result of 3dFWHM shows a spatial blurring of 20 mm! and I wonder if this means that the data are simply very variable or if it's due to some problem related to the +orig extension instead of +tlrc... (maybe an anat parent confusion as well?).

Did anyone run into that problem before? I would very much appreciate your advice on this topic, thank you very much!

Barbara
