AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Sorry for bringing this thread from ashes.

I also found this same problem after moving from Mac OSX 10.6 to 10.8.
I installed the latest XQuartz and Xcode. But, I did not want to install Fink or MacPorts as I did in 10.6, which messed up my system.
I can work around with this issue by linking libfontconfig.1.dylib and libfreetype.6.dylib to the one from XQuartz or Xcode.
For example, in abin
ln -s /opt/X11/lib/libfontconfig.1.dylib libfontconfig.1.dylib
ln -s /opt/X11/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib libfreetype.6.dylib

I believed using XQuartz's libraries is more convenient than using the one supplied by AFNI since they were linked to Fink's libraries. In 10.8, people will need to install XQuartz anyway to use the GUI of AFNI.
