AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Dear all,

I cannot use AFNI to load/view or otherwise manipulate the rs-fMRI data recently released by the Human Connectome Project. I can view these same data in fslview and mricron.

A typical error message is,

** NANM: failed to alloc 3610516 bytes for brick 845

and more context is below.

I would be grateful for your help.

Best regards,
Mika

The number of sub-bricks in one of your datasets exceeds
the current maximum of 1024. Some menus like Ulay/Olay/Thr
will not allow you to select sub-bricks beyond #1024.
To access all sub-bricks from such menus, increase the value of
environment variable 'AFNI_MAX_OPTMENU'. You can do so for this
AFNI session via the 'Edit Environment' plugin. For a more lasting
fix, add the line:
AFNI_MAX_OPTMENU = XXX
under the '***ENVIRONMENT' section of your .afnirc file with XXX
being a suitably large number.
For details, search for 'AFNI_MAX_OPTMENU' in AFNI's README.environment.
