AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

I am in the market for a laptop. I use AFNI quite a bit on a dual boot desktop at work. I wish to be able to use afni on my laptop at home. I have read that it is possible to get ubuntu on a pc and then download afni, but I am worried about the new windows 8 and linux compatibility. I also see that it is possible to download afni through a mac. In order to utilize afni to its fullest capabilities can someone give me advice on a proper laptop purchase? Speed and memory is important but I dont plan on running large datasets on my laptop, but rather using the laptop to set up a script for one subject, or draw roi's for multiple subjects and then run the script on multiple data sets at work.

Any advice is appreciated.
