AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

I have a question about regressing out the motion parameters produced by 3dvolreg. It seems there are several ways to do this:

1. Using the -ort option in 3dBandpass
2. Using -vector in 3dDetrend
3. Using -stim_base in 3dDeconvolve
etc

Do these all perform effectively the same operation? Is there any advantage to removing the motion components earlier on in the pipeline, i.e., prior to 3dDeconvolve? If you do regress out the motion parameters in 3dDetrend/3dBandpass, is it completely redundant to then include them as nuisance regressors in 3dDeconvolve?

Thanks!
Sam
