Please note that as of NOW NOW NOW we will no longer be building AFNI binaries for Mac OS X 10.5. My desktop (the build machine for 10.5) was finally upgraded to 10.8, and so from now on I will be building 10.8 binaries instead.
There will be 2 packages -- macosx_10.8_gcc and macosx_10.8_icc
The _gcc package is available now (I hope it works for you), but the _icc package is not -- I'm having a problem with the Intel compiler, and will probably have to upgrade it before it will work under 10.8. The advantages of the icc build are two-fold:
(1) it produces code that is about 10% faster than gcc
(2) the OpenMP-ized program 3dQwarp doesn't freeze under icc, but occasionally does so under gcc
Also note that the gcc build is NOT from the compiler Apple provides in Xcode, due to the fact that this non-gcc-based product no longer supports OpenMP at all. Instead, I installed the
real gcc 4.8 from
this web site.
