AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Thanks for the joke. Now - just a couple more questions about coordinates, sorry.

1. I have transformed my data using @auto_tlrc CA_N27_ML -- so this data would be in MNI space, right? or wrong?

2. When I look at these .tlrc images in afni, I get, let's say RAI of 13 64 -4 -- this is ... in Talairach space, right?
3. When I get the CM of each cluster using 3dCM - it gives me RAI in Talairach space, right?
4 But - since my data has been transformed using CA_N27_ML -- don't I need to use MNI space?
5. I can see that getting correct MNI is not a matter of just changing sign on some of the dimensions;I know the 2 spaces are different sizes as well. To make concrete - if I put MNI -13 -66 -8 in Enter MNI in viewer, I can get my original RAI of 13 64 -4.

MNI -13 -66 -8
RAI (xyz): 13 64 -4
So, as expected, LR and AP have changed sign -- but also the AP and SI indexes change. Is this some constant change or does it vary across the brain?

6 But I guess the main question is: How would I go about getting LPI coordinates in MNI space using afni?? thanks mb
