A new research project under the direction of Dr. Feinstein at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research (LIBR) is seeking a postdoctoral reserach scholar for a new research project aimed at developing a novel treatment for anxiety based on interoception. As part of this project, we are looking for an innovative postdoctoral candidate with a strong computational background who will play a critical role in the development and application of advanced functional neuroimaging methods including real-time fMRI with neurofeedback, simultaneous fMRI & EEG, functional connectivity, volumetric MRI, and psychophysiology. Mentorship will be provided by a diverse team of researchers that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, neuroscientists, and physicists.

A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or equivalent degree in a related field. The applicant will be expected to help develop research protocols, conduct fMRI experiments, analyze large data sets with potentially hundreds of subjects, write manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals, and present findings at scientific meetings. Applicants should have a solid foundation in fMRI data analysis, statistics, and computer programming, in addition to familiarity with Matlab, UNIX/Linux environments, and stimulus presentation software.
