That is good. I think the pigz binary that came
with MRIcro for macs was only built for systems
with a 64-bit kernel. See:

system_profiler | grep -A 12 'Software Overview'

Some time soon we will probably start distributing
MRIcro software with AFNI, so that aspect of the
compilation will be more consistent.
