Hi Veda,

Did you try my previous suggestion? Please do so if
you have not.

3dTcat -prefix epi.tcat raw_data/$subj/F{$block}P/*.hdr


The only reason to consider Dimon here is in case
the files are out of order. Do you have reason to
believe they are? If so, you can try using Dimon,
but you must tell it to read AFNI type datasets:

Dimon -gert_create_dataset -quit -file_type AFNI \
-infile_pattern "raw_data/$subj/F{$block}P/*.hdr"


Please try each of those commands and see how it goes.
