Yes, you are right, in reality we have a combination.
So the each of the married files should always have the same structure? For instance in our case we did not do the files like this.
Basically the subjects saw two types of scenarios (A or N), followed by two types of instructions (I or R), and a rating after each scenario and after each instruction.
So then we had 4 possible files: AI, AR, NI, NR.
But in the AI files we also included the times and rating for the scenario A, even if it was not followed by an I instruction.
So for instance say run 1 had this order: scen. N, instruction I; scen A, instruction R; scen A, instruction I.
When we constructed the AI file, we also put the the value for the 2nd scenario of the run (which was followed by an R), and of course for this we only had one rating.
The same, in the AR file for this run, we also put the rating for the third scenario, not followed of course by another rating (so only one rating).
Is this wrong?
