I really don't know anything about PESTICA, but the PDF tutorial for it has some instruction on page 22. It seems you run the run_pestica_ica.csh script in your data directory, so you don't actually need to set your data directory other than making it the current directory. The setup_pestica.sh script seem to be for configuration of the program and the approximate grid size. It might be best to ask the author at his email address if you have more questions ( ebeall @ gmail.com).
