Actually, file_tool can convert windows or mac
format to Unix, just by adding -prefix. That does
not work with -test though, because then there
might be multiple output files (-test performs 3
tests). But to change the file type, one can do:

file_tool -show_file_type -infile mac.txt -prefix unix.txt
