AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi AFNI users,

I'm hoping someone could shed some light on quality and motion checking variables. After running gen_ss_review_scripts.py, we ended up with each participant in our sample having an out.ss_review output file with many variables.

Our goal is to hone in on a few variables within this output to determine which participants we may need to exclude due to high motion, but are having trouble distinguishing which ones are the most relevant. Relevant ones seem to be "num TRs above mot limit", "average outlier frac (TR)", "num TRs above out limit", "num TRs per run (censored)", "fraction censored per run", "TRs censored", "censor fraction", "num TRs censored per stim", "fraction TRs censored", and "maximum F-stat (masked)".

What, if any, of these variables should distinguish who to exclude from our sample?

Any/all help would be much appreciated!
