That's strange. What you should do is make sure the two datasets overlap and that there is data in both of them. Start suma and load the datasets, both of them, and verify the overlap. Also, verify that the time series is indeed a time series. You can graph data at a particular node with the 'g' button. See also instructions about surface datasets here.
