Please download the newest version. That does predate many FATCAT programs, including 1dDW_Grad_o_Mat.
In general, AFNI is a continuing stream of consciousness, and it is a truth universally acknowledged, that every single researcher in possession of good fortune has a frequently updated version of the code. I'd probably update it every few weeks or once a month or so. It's not that bad to update binaries early and often, using for example the '@update.afni.binaries' command (or just downloading and replacing the directory with precompiled binaries).
