AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi AFNI experts,

I am trying to calculate an average value within a mask using 3dROIstats. So, before doing that, I need a mask.

To create a mask, I usually binarized an image using "Clusterize" option. But in this case, I get a mask filled with values ranging, for example, from 0 to 5. But I would like to get a mask filled only with 0/1, so that I can simply run 3dROIstats to calculate an average.

I did this before and was able to create a mask filled only with 0/1 but I can't recall how to do that. If I have a mask filled with values ranging 0-5, I would get 5 different average values after running 3dROIstats and I don't need separate averaged value.

Is there any way to change 2-5 values in the mask to 1 ? Is "DrawData" the only way to do that? I don't prefer "DrawData" option because it's such a hassle and inefficient way.

Please let me know if someone know how to solve this issue. I will really appreciate it!

Thank you!
