AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi, I thought perhaps I should explain better what I'm trying to do (this is something I've seen in a number of papers, but I'm not sure of the best way of achieving this in AFNI).

In the simplest case, I have an e-rel dataset with two conditions, randomly intermixed. The ITI is such that there is substantial overlap between subsequent trials, and so at any time t the signal is produced by a mix of multiple conditions and so one cannot just give a single label to timepoints. I would assume one should perform a deconvolution analysis first, pulling out estimated signals for each trial, and use these signals to train an SVM.

Is there a simple way to pull out these single trials in AFNI? Currently, the only way I can think of is by using one -stim_times flag for each trial (and a corresponding timing file with just the timing of that trial), but this would result in hundreds of such files.

Thanks!

-Jack
