Some scientists have questioned why they should give away their hard-earned data for free to open data repositories. Countless hours of grantsmanship and post-docs analytical effort have been poured in to acquiring, analysis and interpretation. Now you can sell it to the highest bidder instead! And in a format that is somehow familiar and sensible.
