AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi guys

So both scans were in the same space/session, so alignment should have started from a good place. Interestingly, the SAME image file becomes misaligned in this case only in the CONTEXT of being overlaid atop another image in AFNI viewer space. I am uploading the source images to get to Paul for an examination.

In general, for years, despite always collecting my T1 structural in the same session and head positioning as task-fMRI when I do align_py kinds of coregistration steps, AFNI keeps giving me errors that the centers of the respective images are always 4-5 cm different in space, which simply can't be. I wonder if there's some positioning information being transmitted by our Philips scanner that is telling AFNI one of the scans is a different FOV or something...
